Stey Jemma
Q: When did you discover the show "HAHE" and Jemma and how?
A:I followed a French blog on lesbian films and shows, (I can't remember the name), because I had just finished the shows The L Word and Hospital Central (I really love the character of Maca (and she is so hot, but quiet, no word to my wife!)), and Los Hombres de Paco. I was really sad when this last show finished, because I was in love with the couple of Pepa and Silvia.
So, I had heard about this new show with a lesbian couple and I said "why not?" And this show could help me to heal my wounds from Pepa and Silvia.
Q: What is it in your opinion that makes the Jemma story special?
A: I think it is a kind of story that can happen to each of us and certain already happened. We can easily find ourselves in the character of Emma; I really like her simplicity and the way she managed her feelings.
Q: Do you think that Jemma taught something? What?
A: Jemma has taught us to be ourselves and trust in love, no matter the gender, age, situation of the person. Everybody deserves to find the person who fits to herself/himself. Personally I have followed this because I fell in love with a woman who lived at the other side of the earth! So everything is possible with love!
Q: What are the scenes that you love the most and what would you have liked to see that they did not show us?
A. Wahoo it is a vast subject! Lol. I like when Emma sings if I were a boy. For the musical part and about the new interpretation that Kasia did, because it is not an easy song. I also enjoy the scene of the first kiss and just after when Emma had a big smile on her face. She was so cute and it was like “finally”! Since I was waiting for that! Another scene is when during the strike, they spent the night together, and Emma tried to keep her distance, but finally her heart and her feelings were above her reason. And the kiss was so romantic too!
Q: Thinking of Emma and Jenny, do you think that they can stay together also in the future?
A: I think all the Jemma fans would like it so much, but I don't think so if their love story happened in the real life. I am so pragmatic and do not believe you will stay with your first love all your life. Only in movies. Maybe they could stay together during university. However, after that, I believe each will follow their own way, separately. Maybe Jenny will become a journalist or a singer, because of her passionate character; Emma will have a more down-to-earth job like a nurse or lawyer.
Q: What aspects of Jenny do you like the most and what of Emma?
A: For Jenny, I like her tenacity, her intelligence and her sense of observation (she is like a hunter with Emma). Physically, I like her eyes, her charm and of course her voice. By the way, I hate her leggings, so tasteless and old fashioned. They didn't feel and fit with her personality.
For Emma, her timidity is touching, same for her lack of confidence. She is a hunter too, but she prefers to observe and take her time before acting.
Q: Do you take /did you take time to read other Jemma stories? Have you a fav author? And why do you like them?
A: Now, I don't take the time to read other Jemma stories, and I am so shamed, because I know writing takes a lot of time.
I used to read some Jemma stories in the past and I like all of them. I don't have a favorite author.
I like all these stories because they carried me in my bubble, in another world. And obviously I also was frustrated each time I had finished reading one part, because I couldn't wait to read the next part!
Q: Is there a story (or more than one) that you do not feel you can write but that you would like someone else to write
A: Hum, I don't think so, because if I make the decision to write something, it is because I want it. So, I want to write something I am comfortable with, and if not, maybe I can write under a pseudonym. Lol
Q: You wrote a very interesting “what if” Jemma story: "A NEW BEGINNING” in which Emma is a vet and she meets Jenny in Kenya, Africa. I must confess that when I started to read it I thought you really were from Africa because you have been able to convey the atmosphere and the sounds and colors and incredible landscapes of that Country. So, first of all: have you ever been to Africa?
A: Hum, I traveled in northern Africa (Tunisia, Morocco), but never in Kenya. So I did lots of research on the web about this country.
Q:Why did you decide to set the story there?
A: I wanted to find an exotic place, and to carry all my readers to another country, to make them travel, and maybe they would want to know more about this country and culture. I remembered I had a discussion about the problem of the elephants and their tusks with Claudia, because I wanted to write about it, but we finally decided no because it wouldn't fit with the type of story I wrote. I thought the environment was as important as the love story that I had wanted to develop.
Q: How did this idea pop in your mind?
A: Honestly when I started to write this story, I only had had an overview of my future story, for the next two or three episodes. After, while I wrote, all the ideas popped in my mind, and it also depended of the wishes of my readers, because this story was for them, and I tried not to disappoint them! Lol
Q: Was Jemma your first attempt to write ff? Have you ever written something else in the past or are you currently writing something else?
A: Yes, it was. And Mel was the instigator! She tried to enlist some writers in the site L Chat, and, as I am weak, I did it. When I thought about the chronology, I have a big smile on my face, the same as Emma after the first kiss due to the fact that after I posted my first part of my first ever fic, Mel sent a copy to Claudia, alias Lurker nm, because she speaks French. And before I had never heard about Lurker nm. First of all, I was a bit frustrated because I didn't want somebody else to made some corrections to my future Pulitzer! Lol. I just write those two stories, but maybe I will write something else, because I like it and it helps to improve my English too. Sometimes I think about writing a blog about my experience and people. It is on my to-do list!
Q: What is the fav part in your fic and can you tell us if there is a part /parts of your fan fics that were very difficult to write?
A: I like the part of the first kiss, because I am an incredible romantic, and I place lots of importance on the first kiss! I wanted to write it in this way, but not too romantic too. Lol. The most difficult parts I wrote were those about the “sex scene”. I know perfectly well that everybody was waiting with impatience for the first one, and I felt pressure while I wrote it. Moreover, I didn't want to write a scene with too much sex, you see what I want to say. I wanted something romantic but not too much!
Q: If I am correct and I remember the right way, I think at a certain point you lost inspiration…what or who helped you?
A: Yes you are right. At that part of the story, I already worked a lot with Claudia, alias Lurker nm, who helped me a lot to find a way to continue my/our story. I enjoyed this moment. I remember, because of the different schedule between USA and France, I looked forward each time to my breakfast break to check my computer, and had the response from her. For this end of the story, I think I decided what I wanted to write like three parts before! The only concern I had was not to bore my readers.
Q: Well, we (I mean, some of us) know that Jemma and this ff brings into your life a special person….your wife. Do you want to talk about this? How everything started?
A: It is the best and most incredible thing that happened in my life, and so unexpected. I had a bad breakup with my ex, and when I started on LChat, I wanted to chat with people who wouldn’t judge. I met Claudia thanks to Mel. We started to chat on the LChat, and afterwards she started helping me with my translation (because apparently google translate is not so good!). Over time, we talked more and more via Messenger, and our discussion went beyond my fics. I can now confess that I decided to write my second fic to spend more time with her. I just liked to talk with her, she is very smart, with a great sense of humor. After, the next step was the discussion via Skype, and we saw each other, because for me I had a picture of an animal on FB and I never sent her a picture of me. I think she liked what she saw, lol. We met the first time during Christmas, and spent one marvelous week together. It was not easy at the beginning because we only knew us by Internet and we both had apprehension (and a plan B in case it did not work!), but on the last day we both cried when we had to say goodbye at the airport. And she enchanted me!
Q: About HAHE TV Show: what do you think about it? Have you seen the whole show or just Jemma’s scenes. Is there some other character that you love in the show and why?
A: Like I said before, I liked this show because each of us could recognize ourselves in this show. During our years of high school, we could be identified by one character or met others. Who never met a Hotte??? I just watched a couple of shows before Jemma’s scenes, only because I wanted to discover better the personality of Emma, and her relationship with Hotte, because I found him very funny, friendly and, protective of her. I was not a fan of the character of Timo, who was boring (just a student). Maybe I find him boring because I just focused on my two favorites.
Q: Did you have the chance to meet and get to know some other Jemma Fans and Jemma writers ? And do you follow the Jemmainternational updates and activities ?
A: Jemma gave me an incredible and beautiful chance to find my wife, and I always will be grateful for that! Because without it, my probability was like close to zero. Claudia and I are lucky to have met Gail/GlobeMallow, Prankster, Liv/Jamster, and Mel/Mel126 (and Claudia met Doreen/Amidola from Germany, Jarum and Jemmainlove too). When I think of that, I am always amazed to have the opportunity to meet all these people, and I want to know more! Unfortunately I am not following the Jemmainternational updates and activities.
Q: Did you have the chance to see Lucy or Kasia? Are you following their careers?
A: I didn't have the chance to see them, contrary to Claudia who had the chance to meet Lucy. I am not a follower of them, but I am happy when they are doing something. I just noticed that Lucy has a big career in musicals.
Q: If you had the chance to write a Season 2 of Jemma….what would you like to show?
A: I would like to show the coming-out of Emma, and the difficulty for some teenagers to be out. For the fun thing, Jemma in a musical at school.
Then, with "After ep. 234" she told us that Jenny travelled to London and never came back to Emma...but, if you want to discover the mistery you must go and read it :) I will never spoiler to you.
